Notes: Historic and modern peacefully coexist in this brand new build sited on a lot formerly reserved for light rail in the Pierson Place historic district. When the City of Phoenix sold the lot back, stipulations on setback, scale and placement of the garage set the program for the architect. Builders on the City’s program must inhabit the home for at least three years to encourage neighborhood stability. The resulting home has a dramatic entryway, multi-slide door opening out to a backyard oasis, headerless windows, and concrete floors.
