HAVER SOLD!

Postby hectoracuna on Sun Mar 19, 2006 4:25 pm

Great news! The Haver on Almeira Road that started this topic thread has SOLD!

Our new neighbor, John, popped over this Sunday to introduce himself and say hello. He's a creative type, associated with Bentley Gallery in Scottsdale and Bentley Projects downtown Phx

<http://www.bentleyprojects.com> and <http://www.bentleygallery.com>

That's about all I can say about him, without his consent. He seems very excited about his purchase and strikes me a most positive addition to our hood.

Welcome John!

(Yes, he' a viewer of this network)

that makes two of the for sale signs that are down in our neighborhood. i think that means the one on coronado sold as well! woo-hoo! nothing but good news for the hood!

Double Haver sale

Postby hectoracuna on Tue Mar 21, 2006 6:23 am

John mentioned to me the Coronado house had sold, and I spotted the seller-owner who lives accross the street clearing out items from the house and setting up yard sale this past weekend. All good signs.

Speaking of signs. Did I see the sign on the end-of-the block Almeira Haver was down?

Yes, 3 of the 4 Havers for sale in Rancho Ventura/Vista have sold, all about the same time!

FYI - Prices: $220,000, $230,000, & believe it or not $295,000!
I won't say which was which out of repect for the new owners.
Not sure who bought the corner house on Almeria but I hope it's
a Haver lover too.

So glad it looks like RV is continuing to be recognized as a desirable Haverhood.

Welcome new neighbors!

Block party

Postby mdeoro on Mon Apr 10, 2006 12:37 pm

I agree about the block party. We've been talking about it for
awhile, so let's do it!! How about last weekend in April or 1st/2nd
one in May? What would we want to do?

i think we need more time to plan/advertise. i have finals until may 6th and won't be able to plan/do ANYTHING til then.... maybe we can pull one off shortly thereafter before it gets too terribly hot! maybe we can pick a date, i'll make a flyer and we can block our whole section off and pull our bbqs into the streets and cook and associate and have ice cream and a battle of the mariachi and rap bands and whooooop it up!

Party!

Postby mdeoro on Sat Apr 22, 2006 8:44 am

OK, lets tentative plan for after May 6th. We can probably meet at
one of our houses & talk about how to organize the whole thing.
Let me know.

Haver-neighbor party

Postby hectoracuna on Wed Apr 26, 2006 8:59 am

A party always sounds good.

Lisa and I have been pondering the idea of having an "Entire Neighborhood Party" to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of our Haverhood which will be next year 2007. The anniversary feels significant and since it's a few months away it will give the organizers enough time to plan organize and advertise.

Perhaps, if we’re lucky, we can also celebrate the City’s repair of the 41st Street & Palm abandoned irrigation ditch. I’m not really confident about the repair actually happening and since all our info about the proposed repair has been word-of-mouth I’m ready to begin a new query into the matter.

But I digress. Prior to a fabulous “Town and Country Manor II Golden Anniversary Celebration” I propose organizing an Alley and Street-Cleaning BBQ/Party. Give us a chance to clean up the place, get to know more of our neighbors and further discuss the idea of a mega-celebration.

Anyhow, just food-for thought.

41 St irrigation ditch

Postby mdeoro on Wed Apr 26, 2006 1:02 pm

Hi Hector,

Sorry I have been very remiss in getting the info out on the 41 St
road completion to you & others in the 'hood south of Palm Lane that is affects. I have been too busy & again, I apologize for not letting you know sooner.

Several weeks ago I contacted someone at the city (I have to dig up his name) who is now the project manager for this project.
I even picked up some street plans that he made available to me. If I remember correctly, he said we were slated for end of March for
work to begin. Then I called him near that date but was told we
were looking at July & a new fiscal year, etc. I wanted to challenge
this (as much as you can fight the city) but never had the time.

My idea was to ask you or Alex or anyone else (new neighbors?)
to help with this in whatever way you can, perhaps by calling & making a stink or we could collectively do something, etc. Whatever you guys can think of. It's already on the RVNA's radar & they will
help as they can.

Anyway, feel free to email, call or just stop by to discuss what we want to do. We also might be able to put up a block wall or some vegetation to cover up the view of the trailer park. We'd need to discuss how. But, the other important stuff... I think your ideas
on a "golden anniversary" & clean-up BBQ are great! Hope we can
make it happen.

Be in touch.
