Mid-Century Pedigree (1961) by John Sing Tang

Postby Dean Mowry on Thu Dec 08, 2011 1:26 pm

This John Sing Tang custom, nestled in the coveted ‘Dana Estates’ subdivision in Arcadia is as pristine a property as you will find. Original Terrazzo flooring with fixtures and tile work which look like they were just removed from a 'time capsule'. If attracted to mid-century modern, nirvana awaits you! A truly quality built, original 4,400+ sf on a rare 1 acre view, corner lot (Montecito & 64th Street)...Must be SEEN to be appreciated for its architectural & historical impact.

Absolutely one of my favorite houses in town! It used to have a carport with matching Chryslers. Super cool!

wow. I have drooled over this house on my many bike rides through the area. I sure hope someone who "knows" what is going on takes this one. Otherwise, I see a travesty in the making. go, modernPHX, GO!
ps with the MLS link down I assume this one is SOLD?

Yes, we completely agree...the buyer for this property will have a big appreciation for the 'whole package' not just the dirt the home sits on.
'Hat Tip' to IbModSteve in bringing the bad link to our attention. We will get that back up ASAP.

Wow. That is amazing. I'm glad to see that untouched houses still exist in Phoenix. I hope the buyers don't touch a thing.

Yes, it is rare to find a property both this period perfect and in such great condition...agreed, definitely "one to save".

Randomly was cruising this hood after the home tour, and caught the realtor during open house and was able to check it out. Wow, this property is immaculate. The pics dont do it justice.... Overheard the realtor explaining that the new owner will be forced to sign a contact to eliminate major renovation. *whew* Ripping up a pristine time capsule like this should be a crime.

Yes, it would be a shame for this property to be substantially altered from it's current, pristine state. With that said, it is important to know the profile of any suitable buyer for this masterpiece will be someone who is willing to invest in the 'home', not just the land it sits on. On the other hand, just to be clear, sellers are not generally willing or able to "force" (restrict) prospective buyer(s) regarding any future plans the buyer(s) may or may not have. Fear not... the universe will provide the right buyer as time unfolds.
