Beadle house in 2/07 Phoenix Home and Garden

Postby hmlauer on Mon Feb 12, 2007 9:54 am

There is a profile of the Beadle house currently owned and recently remodeled by the Wolff family in Paradise Valley in this month's Phoenix Home and Garden magazine. 10 full pages of gorgeous color photos. They did a fantastic job with the remodel. Unfortunately PHG doesn't make the story available online, but it is definitely worth going out and buying a copy.

The article didn't have the address. Just said it was owned by Tim Wolff who is also co-developing Safari Drive in Scottsdale. It also said that Beadle designed the house in 1966.

I thought the same, but a local realtor told me different.
Mr. X would be able to verify.
Beautiful house anyway.

i don't recognize that photo based on the photos in the magazine, so it's hard to say if it's the same one or not.

Regarding 6969 N. Tatum, Al Beadle didn't mind that people thought that it was one of his, because he thought it was a great design. It was designed by "Wild" Bill Cody(according to Mrs. Beadle).

I flipped through the magazine last night at CVS, and it is the 6969 N. Tatum house. Whether it is a Beadle or a Cody, it is still a beautiful place.

I imagine a new property owner would mind if it sold, however, as a Beadle.
Sorry for another analogy X, but it would be like saying,
"Oh yeah, by the way- we were wrong, your wife was not Playboy's Playmate of the year in 1998, but rather, Vivid Video's GangBang sensation award winner.

-She's still pretty though! "

Personally, I would classify the comparison between Beadle and Cody as Playmate of the Year 1998 and Playmate of the Year 1997. They are both highly influential, successful, and talented modernists. Cody was a major architectural player on the scene in Palm Springs during its MCM prime.

it is kind of odd that they continue to rehash the Beadle rumor about this house when it is just as prestigous to own a Cody home.

My apologies Mr. X.
I wasn't aware of Wild Bill's following and it looks like I grossly underestimated your strong feelings for accurate architect/ playmate analogies.
