Dude, in the prescriptive sense, can refer to both men and women. American Heritage Dictionary recognizes this in its definition dude definition 3.b., that "dudes" can be "persons of either sex."

fair enough, point taken. cc, i apologize for assuming you were dismissing the female contribution and construction skills (as many do) before this project even starts, if meant in the 'prescriptive' sense. your comment read sexist at the time and i shouldnt have judged you prior to meeting you. im sorry.

yuck, pride tastes bad after youve just brushed your teeth

I'm curious to know when this group is going to meet up to start pinpointing a game plan. If someone could let me know what the scoop is on this that would terrificolicious.

We are still in the phase of getting a clear picture of how the ball is rolling right now. One or two more face to face meetings with the homeowner and I should be able to determine what would need to be accomplished at a general meeting of all of us.

I still have to stick with this statement that I made on Tuesday. The homeowner has been sick, and no meetings have taken place. When I do see her, I will once again outline the resources we have offered, review what has happened on her end, and she will ultimately have to make the call on how to proceed.

I had a great conversation with the homeowner yesterday, and the time and place for the first meeting have been set. Expect an email within the next 24 hours with specifics. If you don't recieve the info by tomorrow, email me. And if anybody can't make it because of schedule conflicts, don't sweat it, we will take notes for you.

We will be using the responses from Alison's survey for official contact info, so if you are interested and have not responded to this, please do so now.

Shawn,
I will not be able to attend Saturday.
I feel horrible-
I have to get my place packed (I move in to Camelview the following week) and this weekend is the only weekend to be able to pack.

I'll make it up later-
Sorry!!!

A Little inspiration....
I was tasked with coming up with some concept designs for a proposed guest casita. After a bit of research and a visit to the site, here's my take:

The building takes advantage of the private eastern side of the property, while not overshadowing the prominence of the original master works. The building orientation is aligned to connect with the planned new pool and outdoor living areas behind the existing structure. There are extraordinary views to the north of both the secluded wash and Camelback Mountain that are preserved and framed almost exclusively for the master retreat and private courtyard accessible through the bath suite. All west facing glazing consists of sliding glass partition walls, erasing the line between outdoors and in. This elevation is protected from afternoon sun by a deep, low overhang in the same manner as the southern façade of the main house.

I will be adding a terrain model and a likeness of the Whitegates house to the site as well. More to come…

Sketchup...it's about 90 mins of work...

Here's a low res, crunchy video animation. I'll lre-run it when I have time.

jasonasteele; one talented son of a bitch!
(That would make a good logo huh Hector?)

90 minutes huh?
I would love to see what 112 minutes would get us!

I am sold on the guest casita.
Next part...
