Tile Suggestions?

Postby IheartPHX on Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:09 am

Hello!

We are looking for floor tile that resembles gray concrete for a modern remodel of a historic home downtown- any suggestions of local businesses/suppliers, or even online sites? Brand name suggestions/style numbers are of course welcome too! Many thanks!

I recently installed ostrich grey honed quartzite (arizona tile)...Little too metallic for my taste.

I prefer a soft grey through body porcelain with 1/16" joints (kaiser tile)

But if you want to resemble concrete, stick with concrete.
Stay away from online tile outlets because color and texture varies. Best to get 3 or 4 samples to bring to the space you would like to install them in.

I saw some concrete-colored tiles at Arizona Tile on Bell Road (they have other locations in PHX), and the prices were good too. Also at Tanner Materials on Arizona Avenue (and I believe they have a location on the west side of town as well). Both companies have web sites, but you have to go look in person to make sure it's the color you want. At the big places like Floor & Decor, I didn't find anything that looked like concrete, but they did have some modern-looking rectangular tiles at about $2 a sq ft
