Tinman hit it on the nose, I'm guessing you wanted to cut some thicker mdf board. Laser cutting works best on materials thinner than a quarter inch, you can get away with thicker stuff if the material is soft. Also, the bed size limits what you can do, the beds are usually a bit on the small side. CNC works better, and water jet cutting only makes sense for hardwoods and metals.
