Tucson Achitects?

Postby marqoid on Wed Dec 14, 2005 2:05 pm

I know it's not about Phoenix, but I am looking for an architect in Tucson who is dedicated to keeping costs down while keeping unique design up. I am a recent professional college graduate, so I am paying back student loans and continue to live on a budget, but I have a dream of building a home completely from prefabricated pieces that come together in one homogenous form, from my calculations that project that I would like to complete would be affordable so long as I can find someone with the professional aptitude to complete such a project. I haven't spoken with many people yet, but I am intimidated to approach anyone with the idea of building a home for under $250k. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Check out: <a href="http://www.fabprefab.com/fabfiles/home.htm">FabPrefab</a>

If you don't know about this, I suggest visiting it. You'll find lots of interesting stuff there about this sort of thing. I myself am very interested in this as well. Here are some of my personal favs:

<a href="http://www.mkd-arc.com/index.cfm">The Glidehouse</a>

Hope this helps... If you wanna chat about this further, feel free to e-mail me too. I love this sort of thing.

Yes, I've done plenty of read about prefab homes, but they just don't have the same feeling of somehing completely new. When I say using prefab pieces I mean something like large precast concrete blocks and garage doors.
Thanks for the suggestion

Hello Marqoid,
I would love to design a project of this nature. Sounds like a beautiful challenge, the kind I am always looking for. I am located in Phoenix, but I do have ties (my entire family lives there, I grew up there) in Tucson and would be happy to work down there! If it's not too late, please drop me a line, perhaps we can chat a bit and discuss the possibilities...
